Our work is local
and international in scope.
The local Owen Sound Rotary Club owns and maintains Camp Presqu'ile,
summer home to 600-700 children who enjoy week long camping experience,
our Rotarian members enjoy the opening and closing duties with BBQ suppers.
The Owen Sound Club support inbound as well as outbound exchange students
all over the world, an 1 year experience unforgettable by those who participate.
Our fund raisers are throughout the year, Wings and Wheels being one of them.
"Cruisin' the Sound" Cruise Nights at Heritage Mall is run by our friends at A&W.
Our February Annual Volleyball Tournament this year raised $17000. thanks to
our friends at WalMart. Help us contribute to Snowarama, in conjunction with
surrounding Port Elgin, Wiarton, Shallow Lake/Hepworth, Tara, Meaford Rotary
Clubs, The Attack Challenge via our local Junior A Attack raises $10000. plus
over the hockey schedule, our Christmas cheese boxes, Maple Leaf Ham sales
all contribute, 100% of monies raised towards the operation of Camp Presqu'ile.
Our annual Bill Georgas Memorial Golf tournament in May raises over $4000.
Operating budget of Camp Presqu'ile is $220,000 to $240,000, and every child
gets to go to camp irregardless of the familiy's finances.
You will enjoy meeting, working with, volunteering with other Rotarians from
all walks of life. Our weekly meetings are fun filled over lunch, often with
guest speakers, held every Monday at The Inn On The Bay, 12 noon sharp.
Please, try us on, be our guest at any Monday meeting, feel the strength and
the sense of 'giving back' by becoming a Rotarian. The feeling IS great !!
